Our experience with Boataround started off promisingly, with prompt and helpful service during the pre-booking phase. We rented a sailboat in Sicily through this platform last week and were initially impressed with the efficiency with which our queries were answered. However, once we had booked, the quality of service dropped noticeably. We had a hard time getting answers to our queries and, despite sending all the necessary documentation for the rental and making several calls, we did not receive the support we expected. Finally, we were forced to deal with some issues directly with the company that owns the boat in Sicily, Aladar Sail, which turned out to be an additional and unnecessary complication. As for Aladar Sail, we rented a new, more expensive boat this year, expecting it to be trouble-free. However, the inverter was not working properly and the explanation given to us about the problem was very poor. When we asked for some kind of compensation, since the boat did not offer all the contracted services, the response was very unpleasant, minimizing the problem and claiming that it was not that serious. Certainly, it was not "that serious", but the boat was not in the contracted state without that service. In addition, the cleaning of the boat was very poor and, despite the fact that we made the arrangements for early pick-up, the boat was delivered to us two hours late without any compensation.
